How to play

1. Start by making a bet
To be able to play, you must split your bet equally between the "Mise"/"Ante" and "Blinde"/"Blind" areas on the mat. You can also bet whatever you like on the "Bonus"/"Trips" area.

2. The bank deals the cards
The moment we've all been waiting for: the croupier deals the cards. You, as well as the bank, will receive 2 random cards from the possible 52 cards.

3. Let the betting begin
This is where the game really gets going! You have two options: either put 3 or 4 times the value of the "Mise"/"Ante" area in the "Jouer"/"Play" area, or pass on betting (which we call "check").

4. Get ready for the flop
Everyone holds their breath: the croupier reveals the first three community cards. If you haven't yet placed a bet in the "Jouer"/"Play" area, you can either put 2 times the value of the "Mise"/"Ante" area into the "Jouer"/"Play" area, or check again.

5. The turn and the river: same battle
These two stages are carried out in exactly the same way, since each time the croupier reveals a card, if you haven't yet placed a bet in the "Jouer"/"Play" area, you have the option either to place 1x the value of "Mise"/"Ante" into the "Jouer"/"Play" area, or to fold, in which you lose all your starting bets, apart from the bet in the "Bonus"/"Trips" area, if you have a winning hand of above three of a kind.

6. And the winner is…
Are you still in the game? So now it's time to reveal who has the best hand!

Various scenarios are possible:

  1. The positive outcome: your hand is better than the bank's hand. In this case, even money is paid out on the bets you placed on the "Jouer"/"Play" and "Mise"/"Ante" areas. Well played!
  2. The negative outcome: the bank has a better hand than you. In this case, say goodbye to the bets you placed on the "Jouer"/"Play", "Mise"/"Ante" and "Blinde"/"Blind" areas. Be assured, this happens even to the best players.
  3. The alternative outcome: the bank and you have equal hands. In this case, the sums on the "Jouer"/"Play", "Mise"/"Ante" and "Blinde"/"Blind" areas remain where they are. Note taken.

Jack's advice

Never forget that Poker is a game of probabilities! If you still have a weak hand after the flop (no pairs, or potential to have a straight or a flush), I'd advise you to fold and wait for a better opportunity to bet.

Taking it further

As you can imagine, the bank isn't going to be a pushover. Here are a few details that you need to remember:

- To win the "Blinde"/"Blind", you need to have a better hand than the bank AND have at least a straight. Not easy, then.

- To win the "Bonus"/"Trips" you need to have at least 3 of a kind, no matter what hand the bank has. That's a little bit easier.
